I'll be back!

It's been two months since I last blogged and for very good reason.

I have been going through the selection process for the Truro and Falmouth parliamentary seat. It has been an amazing few weeks and due to selection rules I decided not to blog during the process (you have to get each one approved by the R/O and I thought my time was better spent knocking on doors).

Anyway, it all finished yesterday and I came second - by 1 vote! After a number of nail-biting recounts the result was declared.

I would like to send my congratulations to Terrye Teverson who is now the prospective parliamentary candidate for Truro and Falmouth.

I would also like to send my thanks to all the people who helped me, you were fabulous and I am really grateful. It has been a totally brilliant journey and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I must especially thank my husband who made the most amazing counting agent yesterday and to the rest of my family who have made this so possible. It has been hard work but I'm ever so glad I did it!

Of course I am gutted too, but now it is time to rally round and make sure that Terrye gets elected - it's going to be a tough fight as the Conservative is strong, but as I said in my speech - with hard work we'll do it!

Really tough luck to be so close... but I'm sure, as you say, you'll be back!

All the best - and do enjoy *some* time off post-selection!
