In other people's hands

Over the last few months I have got used to my life being in other people's hands. I have to say it's been a leap of faith for me, being someone who has always firmly believed in making one's own luck and not relying on others for the future!

But, here I am again, waiting for the turn of hand (this time the Big Lottery) that will decide what I am to be doing for the next few years. It has been frustrating to not be able to go and talk face-to-face with the committee who are deciding on the project (Real Baby Milk), it's hard to get your passion across in set size boxes in a typed font on a form!

I was begining to panic - I had n't made a firm plan B ... what happens if we don't get the half a million, but then a lovely lady at Government Office South West dropped me an email offering nearly £10k to help launch Real Baby Milk if the grant bid fails. Thank you GOSW - and you don't hear me say that very often!

This has been a good thing, I feel a little more laid back about it all and am just sitting and hoping that my typed out form does manage to stand out somehow from the others. Fingers crossed!
